The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Saturday that the chances of reducing cholera infection in Yemen are still limited, in light of the increasing number of infections.
This came in a brief statement published on her Twitter page.
The UN attributed the spread of the cholera epidemic to "poor water, sanitation and hygiene services, inadequate living conditions, and other vulnerabilities."
The organization stated that 9.8 million boys and girls in Yemen are in dire need of water, sanitation and hygiene.
This comes amid the rise in cholera cases to about 220,000 since the beginning of this year, according to UN reports.
According to recent data, 9.8 million boys and girls in #Yemen are in dire need of #Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Opportunities to reduce cholera transmission remain limited by poor WASH services, inadequate living conditions and other vulnerabilities. #COP29 pic.twitter.com/ALFYckz0rQ
