At least 207 residents of Haiti's Cité Soleil suburb have been killed this month by gunmen from the Wharf Jeremie gang, a United Nations report said Monday, raising the death toll from an initial estimate of 187.

The Republic of Yemen welcomed the decision of the United Nations General Assembly calling on the International Court of Justice to issue a legal opinion regarding Israel’s ban on the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Palestine.

The United Nations announced that it provided cash assistance worth $153 million to those affected by multiple crises in Yemen during the first nine months of this year.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted two resolutions calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an exchange of prisoners, and supporting the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which Israel is targeting.

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, called on all parties on Wednesday to engage seriously with his efforts to implement the roadmap, noting that it aims to achieve a ceasefire, implement economic measures including sustainable salary payments, and pave the way for a comprehensive political process.

The United Nations said on Wednesday that it needs $2.5 billion to support the humanitarian response plan in Yemen during the coming year 2025.
