Media outlets affiliated with the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen announced on Thursday that the Israeli aggression raids on the ports of Hodeidah, which are under their control (western Yemen), left 9 dead and 3 wounded in an initial toll, while the Zionist enemy army announced that the attack aimed to destroy three main ports used by the Houthis in their naval attacks.

Al-Masirah TV, affiliated with the Houthis, reported that the Zionist enemy launched seven raids on the port of Hodeidah, in addition to a raid targeting the port of Al-Salif, and two raids on the Ras Issa oil facility.

She added that the attack on the port of Al-Salif left 7 dead, while two people were killed and another injured in the attack on the Ras Issa facility, and two people were injured in the attack on the port of Hodeidah.

Israel launched air strikes on facilities in Sanaa and Hodeidah at dawn on Thursday, shortly after announcing that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it entered Israeli airspace.

In addition to the aggression on Hodeidah, the raids included four raids on the Haiz power station south of the capital, Sana'a, and two raids on the Dhahban power station north of the capital.

The Israeli enemy army announced that its air force attacked what it called Houthi military targets in Yemen, including ports and energy infrastructure in Sanaa.

"Five targets were attacked in Yemen, and 14 warplanes dropped dozens of bombs," the Israeli Army Radio said.

"In the ports, the tugs that bring ships in were attacked, and the ability to bring in goods was paralyzed," she added.

Meanwhile, Channel 13 Israel quoted a military source from the Zionist enemy army as saying, "The goal of the Israeli attack on Yemen is to destroy 3 main ports used by the Houthis in their attacks on ships in the Red Sea."

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that he approved the attack plan against dozens of strategic facilities belonging to the Houthis.

Israel launched two air strikes on Hodeidah ports and energy facilities in July and September, claiming to be responding to Houthi missile and drone attacks.
