Eid al-Fitr in the Arab world: Sunday in Yemen and 8 countries, Monday in Egypt and 7 countries

Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon announced on Saturday evening that Sunday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted.

While Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Oman, Tunisia, Libya and Algeria announced that Monday is the first day of Eid after the crescent moon was not sighted.

The Yemeni Ministry of Endowments and Guidance said in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted.

In Saudi Arabia, the Royal Court said in a statement that the Supreme Court has decided that tomorrow, Sunday, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted.

In Qatar, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted.

In Kuwait, the Sharia Moon Sighting Authority announced that Sunday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In the UAE, the Presidential Court announced in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Bahrain, the Sharia Moon Sighting Authority announced in a statement that Sunday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Palestine, the Mufti announced in a statement that Sunday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Sudan, the Islamic Fiqh Academy announced in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Lebanon, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, who represents the Sunni authority, announced in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council in Lebanon called, in a statement, for sighting the Shawwal crescent moon on Sunday evening. Today marks the 28th day of Ramadan for Shiites in Lebanon, and accordingly, Eid will fall on either Monday or Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Egypt's Grand Mufti Nazir Ayyad announced in a televised address that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr after the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted this evening.

In the Sultanate of Oman, the Crescent Sighting Committee announced in a statement that tomorrow, Sunday, is the last day of Ramadan, and that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted.

In Syria, Damascus's top Sharia judge, Ahmed Mohammed Hamada, announced in a statement that Sunday marks the end of Ramadan and Monday marks the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Tunisia, Grand Mufti Hisham bin Mahmoud announced in a televised address that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Libya, Dar al-Iftaa announced in a statement that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Algeria, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Iraq, the Sunni Endowment Diwan announced in a statement that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

The office of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the highest authority for Shiites in Iraq, also announced in a statement that Sunday marks the last day of Ramadan and Monday marks the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Pashtun Sadiq, announced during a press conference that "the Crescent Sighting Committee met today and confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, and that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr."

In Jordan, Grand Mufti Ahmed Al-Hasanat announced in a statement that Monday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Morocco is scheduled to sight the Shawwal crescent on Sunday evening, which marks the 28th day of Ramadan in the Kingdom.

Therefore, the Eid will be either Monday or Tuesday for them.
