The Yemeni Ambassador to Britain, Dr. Yassin Saeed Noman, said that the pressure exerted by the international community to stop the recapture of Hodeidah in 2018 from the grip of the Houthi militias led to disasters and disrupted all peace attempts, calling for correcting this path.
This came during his meeting with the Director of the Middle East Department at the British Foreign Office, Ivan Park, according to the Yemeni News Agency "Saba".
During the meeting, Noman stressed the "importance of correcting the course of events that were disrupted in 2018 due to wrong calculations, when the legitimate government and the Saudi-led coalition to support legitimacy were on the verge of retaking Hodeidah, and international pressure was put on them to stop under the pretext of humanitarian motives, which led to subsequent disasters and the disruption of all peace attempts to this day."
The meeting stressed the importance of classifying the Houthi militias as a terrorist group, as this indicates their involvement in an expansionist terrorist war project at the expense of the will of the peoples of the region in general and the people of Yemen in particular, and the bloodshed, destruction, sabotage, displacement and starvation they have been exposed to, and the exposure of regional and international security and global trade to great risks and heavy losses.
He also stressed that "regional developments provide many of the necessary conditions to achieve peace in Yemen, especially since the Iranian expansionist war project that has continued to reject peace is collapsing, which requires support for the Yemeni government's efforts by the regional and international community."
