The Joint Incidents Assessment Team in Yemen confirmed today, Wednesday, that the allegations regarding two incidents that occurred in the Nihm District of Sana'a Governorate on March 21, 2018 are false.

The team explained in a press conference that after a comprehensive study of the documents and information related to the two incidents, it became clear that the coalition forces carried out an air strike targeting a military target, a vehicle belonging to the armed Houthi militia, based on a request from the legitimate forces.

According to the Yemeni News Agency "Saba", investigations indicated that the vehicle was empty of civilians and was not carrying any cargo, and that the location was far from population centers and the public road.

The team explained that after comparing the air missions carried out during the day of the incident and the surrounding days, it became clear that no air missions were carried out over a fenced area other than the aforementioned strike.

The team concluded that the allegations regarding targeting a vehicle carrying civilians carrying firewood for fuel were incorrect, stressing the commitment of the coalition forces to the rules of engagement and the principles of international humanitarian law.
