During his meeting with the US Ambassador, Al-Alimi calls for government support to confront economic challenges

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, stressed today, Wednesday, the importance and necessity of supporting the government in order to fulfill its obligations in various fields, including maintaining the cohesion of the national currency.

This came during Al-Alimi's meeting with the US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, to discuss the latest developments and efforts made to bring peace to Yemen, according to the government's Saba news agency.

According to the agency, Al-Alimi called for American support to confront the economic challenges and the collapse of the currency, coinciding with the decline of the Yemeni riyal to its lowest level.

He reviewed the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to confront the difficult economic, humanitarian and service challenges faced by the Yemeni people.

Al-Alimi congratulated the US Ambassador and the American people on the occasion of the election of President Donald Trump as President of the United States of America.

He stressed the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to work with the new administration with all seriousness and positivity in a way that reflects on serving our two friendly countries and peoples and in a way that achieves for Yemen and its noble people the end of the Houthi coup and the restoration of the state.

In turn, the US Ambassador affirmed his country's support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to confront various challenges, as well as for all efforts made to establish peace, security and stability in Yemen.
