The Iraqi government recognizes the internationally recognized legitimate Yemeni government, not the Houthi group, as a representative of Yemen. However, it opened an office in Iraq some time ago, managed by Abu Idris al-Sharafi (Ahmed al-Sharafi), and communicates with political forces and armed factions close to Iran, without any official meetings announced with official Iraqi government bodies.
