Shura Council Speaker calls on France to pressure Iran to stop interfering in Yemen's affairs

Today, Monday, the Chairman of the Yemeni Shura Council, Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, called on France to exert pressure on Iran to stop its interference in Yemen's affairs.

This came during his meeting with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to discuss developments on the national scene, according to the Yemeni News Agency, Saba.

Bin Dagher praised the cooperation between Yemen and France in various fields, and the joint work to achieve stability and development in Yemen, appreciating the historical positions of the French Republic in supporting Yemen, its unity, security and stability.

During the meeting, Bin Dagher called on France to exert pressure on Iran to stop its interference in Yemen's affairs, stressing that Iranian support for the terrorist Houthi militia contributes to the exacerbation of the crisis and hinders peace efforts in the country.

He also called on the international community, especially major countries such as France, to take effective steps to support Yemen in facing the challenges imposed by foreign intervention.

The Speaker of the Shura Council expressed his hope that France would work with international partners to support Yemen in facing the humanitarian, political, economic and living challenges facing the Yemeni citizen.

He praised the efforts of the Saudi-led coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen to support Yemen and restore its legitimate institutions, stressing that the coalition played a decisive role in confronting the challenges faced by legitimacy, and contributed effectively to restoring security and stability in the country.

Bin Dagher pointed out that the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the coalition countries helped alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, expressing his appreciation for the sacrifices made by the coalition to support Yemen and its people in light of the difficult circumstances they are going through.

For her part, the French Ambassador affirmed her country's firm position in supporting constitutional legitimacy and peace efforts in Yemen to preserve its security, unity and stability, stressing the importance of international cooperation in strengthening peace efforts.

She pointed to France's role in supporting humanitarian and development projects to help the Yemeni people overcome the crises they face, stressing that Paris will continue to work with its international partners to achieve stability in the region.
