Yemeni Presidential Council member Tariq Saleh said, "The Houthis are relying on cells infiltrating liberated areas." He called on the tribes and society in Marib to thwart these plans by supporting the state and rallying around the governorate's leadership and the army.
He added, "Ma'rib was the first line of defense of the revolution and the republican system," and praised the role of the tribes of Ma'rib and Al-Jawf in confronting the terrorist Houthi militia's project.
During a meeting with sheikhs from Marib and Al Jawf via video link, he emphasized the importance of Marib as a stronghold of the republic, unbreakable. He said, "The goal behind the Houthis' current mobilization toward Marib is to compensate for Iran's losses in Lebanon and Syria."
He stressed the need to "integrate military action with national awareness and social solidarity to confront the Iranian project," according to what was reported by the official Saba news agency.
He urged Marib tribes to support security efforts in cooperation with the governorate's state leadership and army to pursue Houthi terrorist cells that aim to sow discord and incite divisions to further their agenda.
