Haidan meets with EU ambassadors in Aden
The Yemeni government expressed its aspiration to provide logistical support, support training and rehabilitation programs, and support the Police College to train the Ministry of Interior cadres to provide better service to citizens and combat terrorist organizations.
This was stated by the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haydan, during his meeting on Sunday, in the interim capital, Aden, with the European Union delegation headed by the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Gabriel Munuera Vinals, according to the Saba Agency.
Haidan reviewed the ministry’s efforts to enhance security, stability and digital development, adopt the biometric fingerprint in the national identity, and its role in quickly dealing with data that contributes to identifying identities, preventing forgery and reaching out to outlaws.
During the meeting, which included the Dutch Ambassador, Ginette Sieben, the German Ambassador, Hubert Beger, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the French Opera House, Aymeric Bovelin, and the Political Officer at the European Union Mission, Claire Nanterre, he praised the effective role of the European Union in supporting the Yemeni government.
The Minister of Interior addressed the violations and crimes committed by the terrorist Houthi militias against civilians, noting that the militias do not have any political or human rights issues and work as a mercenary for Iran alongside terrorist organizations.
Major General Haidan pointed to the tragic conditions imposed by the Houthi militias and their treatment of citizens in the areas under their control as hostages, imposing levies and looting citizens' salaries.
For their part, the European Union delegation affirmed the support of the European Union countries for the Presidential Leadership Council represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, renewing their continued support for the Yemeni government and the Ministry of Interior through support, training and rehabilitation programs.
