Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, confirmed that Yemen will remain a priority for the organization and United Nations agencies despite the increasing international crises.

This came during his meeting with the Yemeni Foreign Minister, Shaye Al-Zindani, during his visit to Aden yesterday, Tuesday, according to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

According to the agency, the meeting discussed cooperation between the Yemeni government and the organization, in addition to the challenges facing the work of UN organizations, especially in areas under the control of the Houthi militia, including the arrests of humanitarian workers.

For his part, Minister Al-Zindani welcomed the first visit of its kind by the Director of the Organization, and praised the existing partnership, stressing the government's keenness to support the health sector, confront epidemics, and provide the necessary facilities for the work of organizations.

Yemen is witnessing the spread of many epidemics, the severity of which has increased with the collapse of the health system due to the ongoing war in the country for ten years.
