Yemen wins first place in Djibouti Quran competition

The Republic of Yemen won advanced positions in the President's Award for Quran Memorization, Recitation and Tajweed, which was held in Djibouti.

Hafiz Abdullah Shukri Taher Thabet won first place in the complete Quran category, while Hafiz Ahmed Abdullah Ahmed came in second place in the twenty-part category, and Hafiz Ammar Yasser Abdullah won fifth place in the ten-part category.

Minister of Endowments and Guidance Dr. Mohammed bin Ayedha Shabiba praised the excellence of Yemen's representatives in the competition, stressing that this achievement reflects the outstanding level of Yemen's memorizers and enhances Yemen's standing in international Quran competitions.

The Minister noted that the Ministry has worked to prepare and qualify the contestants through intensive training programs, under the supervision of a select group of licensed sheikhs, to ensure outstanding performance commensurate with the strength of competition in this prestigious competition.
