Real Madrid beat Getafe, tighten grip on Barcelona, Girona snatch draw from Villarreal

Real Madrid defeated its guest Getafe, two goals to none, while Girona and Villarreal tied in the 15th round of the Spanish League.

Real Madrid accepted the gift from its traditional rival Barcelona, who stumbled yesterday, Saturday, losing 1-2 to Las Palmas.

Real Madrid raised its score to 33 points in second place, one point behind Barcelona, the leader, noting that Real Madrid has a postponed match against Valencia.

Getafe's balance froze at 13 points in 17th place in the La Liga standings.

Girona snatch draw from Villarreal

In the fifteenth round of the Spanish League, Girona snatched an exciting draw with two goals each from Villarreal.

Terno Barry put Villarreal ahead in the 23rd minute, Alex Baena doubled the lead in the 46th minute before Donny van de Beek pulled one back for Girona in the 36th minute, while Ladislav Krejci grabbed a stoppage-time equaliser for Girona.

Girona, who lost in the last round of the Champions League against Sturm Graz of Austria, raised their score to 22 points in seventh place.

Villarreal raised its score to 26 points in fourth place, with a postponed match.
