Saudi Arabia officially submits the bidding file to host the 2034 World Cup

Today (Monday), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia officially submitted its candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup, in the French capital, Paris, in a ceremony held by FIFA.

The file was delivered through an official delegation headed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Meshal, in addition to two children from the regional training centers of the Saudi Football Federation.

For his part, President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Mashal, said: “The file reflects our commitment to organizing the largest tournament in the world of football, and our keenness to advance the sports sector at all levels. Football is an essential part of Saudi culture, and the Saudi people have a great passion for it. We seek to deliver this message to FIFA, and we are confident in our ability to harness this passion in order to organize an exceptional edition of the World Cup in 2034, and build a football legacy for future generations that will advance the Kingdom’s transformation process towards new heights.”

The selection of the two talents in the official Saudi delegation to submit the candidacy file came as an initiative of the Saudi Football Association in line with the exceptional journey expected for Saudi football over the next 10 years, and in line with the aspirations and ambitions of the Saudi people and their great passion for embracing an exceptional version of the world championship.

Submitting the nomination file to FIFA is the third stage within the context of the official nomination stages to host the World Cup tournaments. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had announced, through the Saudi Football Federation, its intention to nominate to host the 2034 World Cup on the fourth of October of last year, 2023, as the only country in the running to win the hosting of this global sports forum, going through the stage of launching the identity. For the Kingdom to host the 2034 World Cup, while submitting the candidacy file is now the third stage that confirms the Kingdom’s determination and keenness to host, this will be followed by many stages, including official inspection visits by FIFA, and a full evaluation of the candidacy file, Leading up to the official announcement of the host country for the 2034 World Cup on December 11 of the current year, 2024 AD.

This afternoon (Monday), Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, gave the green light to the Kingdom’s candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup after completing all the details and requirements.
