Today, the city of Marib commemorated the 77th anniversary of the Constitutional Revolution that erupted against the priestly Imamate rule on February 17, 1948, in an artistic and rhetorical event organized by the Ahfad Al-Qardaei Movement, in honor of the march of the martyred revolutionary Ali Nasser Al-Qardaei, who launched the first spark of the revolution, and coinciding with the publication of his poetry collection.

The Department of History and Political Science at the Faculty of Arts at Taiz University held a symposium entitled “The Dangers of Houthi Thought to the Republican System” in Al-Thulaia Hall, this Wednesday morning, as part of the awareness and intellectual activities, coinciding with the celebrations of the national holidays of September 26, October 14, and November 30.

The Chairman of the Shura Council, Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, stressed that today’s defense of the September 26 Revolution, despite its deep wounds, is a defense of national unity, a single Yemeni identity, and equal citizenship.

With the establishment of the republic, the isolation imposed by the Imamate regime on North Yemen ended. The revolution opened the door to competition for power, as power was no longer the monopoly of a family or class based on a religious text, but rather the rule was based on a democratic constitutional foundation, which made everyone equal in rights and duties.
