Shabwa Defense Forces announced, on Saturday, the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a shipment of various weapons and ammunition that was on its way to Shabwa Governorate (southeast Yemen).

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaye Al-Zindani, discussed today, Sunday, with the head of the United Nations Mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), retired Major General Michael Perry, the Houthi threats to international navigation and mine clearance efforts in Hodeidah Governorate.

Military forces in Lahj Governorate (southern Yemen) seized a shipment of equipment used in military industries before it was smuggled to the terrorist Houthi militia.

The Platform for Tracking Organized Crime and Money Laundering in Yemen (P.T.O.C) revealed that the Houthi militia relies heavily on smuggling weapons across the Red Sea through smugglers and African mafias, under the supervision of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Sources revealed a special relationship between the arms dealer close to the Houthis, Fares Manaa, and senior leaders in the Southern Transitional Council supported by the UAE, to facilitate the arms smuggling operation in which "Manaa" is active in Yemen and the Horn of Africa.

Two men linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard are currently facing terrorism charges in the United States in connection with the interception of a ship in the Arabian Sea that killed two US Navy personnel earlier this year.
