Israeli warplanes targeted Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday for the first time since a ceasefire agreement was reached between Lebanon and Israel last November. Israel linked the attacks to rocket fire from the south, which Hezbollah denied any involvement in and affirmed its commitment to the ceasefire.

The Israeli occupation launched several air strikes at dawn on Thursday on different areas in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut. Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced targeting military sites of the occupation with qualitative missiles for the first time.

The Lebanese Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that at least 20 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a building in the coastal town of Barja, located more than 20 kilometers south of Beirut.
