The Arab Ministerial Meeting in Cairo included 5 countries, Saturday, February 1, 2025
Arab foreign ministers, in meetings held in Cairo on Saturday, rejected all practices that threaten the rights of the Palestinian people, including “settlement, forced displacement, home demolitions and land annexation,” sending a number of messages to US President Donald Trump and the international community.
The meeting of Arab foreign ministers was held at the invitation of Egypt, and was attended by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
The participants in the meeting expressed, in a joint statement, "continued full support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, and their adherence to their legitimate rights, in accordance with international law, and affirmed the rejection of infringement of those inalienable rights, whether through settlement activities, expulsion and demolition of homes, or annexation of land."
The statement continued - speaking about the rejection of displacement - "by evacuating homes of their owners through displacement or encouraging the transfer or uprooting of Palestinians from their land in any way, or under any circumstances and justifications, which threatens stability, portends further extension of the conflict to the region, and undermines the chances of peace and coexistence among its peoples."
The participants in the meeting welcomed the agreement to cease fire in the Gaza Strip and exchange prisoners between Israel and Hamas, praising the efforts made by Egypt and Qatar to achieve this agreement, and the important role played by the United States in achieving it.
The participants' statement called on "the international community in this regard, especially international and regional powers, and the United Nations Security Council, to begin the actual implementation of the two-state solution, ensuring that the roots of tension in the Middle East are addressed, by reaching a just settlement of the Palestinian issue."
He continued, "Including the embodiment of the Palestinian state on its entire national territory and within the context of the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the lines of June 4, 1967."
In this context, he stressed support for "the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution, and active participation in the international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue and implement the two-state solution, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, scheduled to be held in June 2025."
