Al Mahrah Reform warns against divisions and calls for strengthening community cohesion in the governorate

The local Shura Council of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform in Al Mahrah Governorate warned today, Saturday, of the danger of divisions and conflicts that threaten security and stability in the governorate, calling for strengthening societal cohesion and confronting attempts to divide the national ranks.

In its final statement issued during its second regular session, the Authority stressed the importance of the official, partisan, social and media bodies working together to stop political conflicts and enhance community awareness to consolidate the national identity and preserve the privacy of Al Mahrah Governorate.

In this regard, the Shura Council stressed the need to activate customs, sea and land ports, and provide facilities to investors to revive commercial activity and increase revenues for the benefit of developing the governorate, according to what was stated by the "Islah Net" website, the party's mouthpiece.

The local authority also called for improving basic services, such as electricity, water and health, and finding sustainable solutions to alleviate the suffering of citizens, in addition to addressing the effects of natural disasters that have not been adequately dealt with so far.

The Authority praised the role played by the security and military institutions in the governorate to maintain security and stability, despite the challenges and scarcity of resources, stressing the importance of enhancing security efforts to combat smuggling and organized crime.

The local authority also called for activating political action in support of legitimacy, and activating the principle of political partnership to ensure fair representation of various national components.

The Shura Council called on the Presidential Council and the government to take urgent measures to stop the deterioration of the national currency and improve the economic situation in the liberated areas, so that they would be a model to be emulated in rebuilding state institutions.

On the Arab front, the Authority renewed its condemnation of the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Gaza and the West Bank, affirming its support for the Palestinian resistance and the right of the Palestinian people to liberate their land and establish their independent state.

She also blessed the agreement to stop the war on Gaza, noting that it is a strategic victory for the resistance, and calling for the reconstruction of the Strip.

The statement concluded by thanking the organising committees that contributed to the success of the session, stressing the party’s continued efforts to enhance stability and development in Al Mahrah Governorate.
