Death of an army soldier after his release from Houthi prisons where he was tortured

On Saturday, one of the prisoners released from the Houthi militia prisons in the capital, Sanaa, died, days after his release, as a result of the torture and medical neglect he was subjected to during his detention.

Journalist Jabr Sabr confirmed in a post on Facebook that “his uncle, Mohammed Ali Al-Naseem, one of the Yemeni army officers and members of the 29th Mika Brigade, passed away due to the deterioration of his health as a result of torture in the Central Security Prison in Sana’a, which is supervised by the Houthi group through Abdul Qader Al-Murtada, who is subject to US sanctions due to torture crimes.”

Sabr pointed out that his uncle "was subjected to brutal torture and deliberate medical neglect, as the militia refused to provide him with first aid or treatment despite the deterioration of his health condition.

He explained that his wife died while he was in prison and the militia refused to let him go out to visit her before she died.

It is noteworthy that the deceased, Mohammed Ali Al-Naseem, was one of the veteran Yemeni army officers, and participated in the Iraq-Iran war in the eighties of the last century, within the battalions of the Giants Brigade.
