Released prisoner Ahmed Babash, after his release from the occupation prisons to Gaza

Scenes showed the crying of the released prisoner Ahmed Babash, one of the released prisoners from the Gaza Strip, after he was shocked by the news of the martyrdom of his wife and daughter during his detention in the occupation prisons.

Babash appeared crying when he looked at the pictures of his wife and daughter on his father's phone, and his voice was choking with tears as he repeated: "For God's sake, let me see her picture... I forgot what you look like, my dear, my love (meaning his daughter)."

As he was flipping through the photos, feelings of longing and regret exploded from his words, as he said, addressing his martyred daughter: “You make me laugh, my beloved, my mother... May God have mercy on you,” before repeating: “I swear to God, I miss you, my beloved.”

Despite the shock, Babash continued to ask to see a picture of his wife, addressing his father with pain: “Show me Asmaa’s picture… Please show me her picture,” as if hope was still hanging in his hands, searching for what memories remained among the pictures.

He added, while narrating his wishes in prison: “I used to tell my wife what foods I like because we were hungry in prison, so we could eat with her and the children and have fun,” before adding: “But I will go to her grave and tell her, God willing... we will eat together in heaven, God willing.”

It is noteworthy that the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over today 3 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, while Israel released 183 Palestinian prisoners, including 142 who were transferred from Ketziot Prison to the Gaza Strip, and the rest were released from Ofer Prison to the West Bank, as part of the fourth exchange batch, within the framework of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal.

With the end of the fourth exchange process within the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in effect since January 19, the resistance has released 13 Israelis and 5 Thais in exchange for 583 Palestinian prisoners released from the occupation’s prisons.
