The Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party condemned, on Thursday, the statements of the head of the Transitional Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, in which he linked a number of the party’s leaders to terrorism, considering those statements to express a “state of political schizophrenia” and a deviation from the norm.

The party's official spokesman, Adnan Al-Adini, described these statements as "strange and unjustified", and said that they were returned to their owner.

Al-Adini confirmed in a post on the X platform that “the invocation of the term terrorism, which claimed the lives of a number of Islah leaders and supporters (specifically in the city of Aden!) and its abuse in wrong contexts indicates a state of political schizophrenia, and the accusations are returned to their owner, based on international reports.”

He explained, "Our country is going through a critical turning point, and the Yemeni people are waiting for everyone to rise to the challenge. Islah has extended a hand in this and has made and continues to make sincere and sublime efforts," stressing that those who "tweet out of tune" are supposed to review themselves and think before making any statements.

Al-Zubaidi had accused some leaders of the Islah Party of terrorism in an interview with the Emirati Sky News Arabia channel, on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos conference yesterday, Wednesday.

It is noteworthy that the Islah Party has been subjected since 2015 to a wide-scale crackdown in the interim capital, Aden, which is under the control of the forces of the UAE-backed Transitional Council. During all these years, dozens of its leaders have been subjected to assassinations and liquidations, which leaders in the Transitional Council and its supporters are accused of being behind.
