Egypt: Defense Minister Calls on Army to Maintain "Highest Level of Readiness"

Egyptian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Abdel Majeed Saqr called on Tuesday on the men of the Third Field Army to maintain the highest levels of combat readiness so that the armed forces remain capable of fulfilling the tasks and responsibilities assigned to them under various circumstances.

This came during the Egyptian Minister of Defense's attendance at "the implementation of the main phase of the project of the mobilization command centers for the Third Field Army," according to a statement by the Egyptian Army spokesman, Brigadier General Gharib Abdel Hafez.

Abdel Hafeez stated in his statement that the implementation of this phase continued for several days within the framework of the combat training plan for the formations and units of the armed forces, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the leaders of the main branches, and a number of leaders of the armed forces, without specifying its duration or location.

In a speech during the implementation of the combat project, the commander of the Third Field Army, Major General Hisham Shandi, said: “The fighters of the Third Field Army are keen to reach the highest levels of efficiency and combat readiness, which enables them to carry out all the tasks assigned to them in defending the security and safety of the homeland, no matter the sacrifices it costs them.”

He added, "The main stage included presenting a summary of the mobilization idea and previous work implemented in the various stages, as well as presenting the decisions taken by the leaders during the management of the project."

According to the statement, the Egyptian Minister of Defense discussed with "a number of project participants the method of carrying out their tasks and how to make the best decision to deal with all unexpected situations during the management of operations."

The Minister of Defense called on "the men of the Third Field Army to maintain the highest levels of combat readiness so that the armed forces remain capable of fulfilling the tasks and responsibilities assigned to them under various circumstances."
Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, discussed with a number of commanders and officers the missions that were carried out and imposed a number of sudden tactical situations to ensure their ability to make the right decision according to the nature of the situation.

The most important tasks of the Third Field Army are to secure the Sinai Governorate and the country's borders with the Gaza Strip.
