Egypt announced that it intends to present a vision for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip that guarantees the survival of the Palestinian people on their land, while Jordan confirmed that King Abdullah II presented his vision to US President Donald Trump to rebuild Gaza without displacing its people.

Egypt confirmed - in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday - "its intention to present a comprehensive vision for the reconstruction of the Strip in a way that guarantees the survival of the Palestinian people on their land and in a manner consistent with the legitimate and legal rights of this people."

She said she looked forward to "cooperating with the US administration led by Trump to achieve a comprehensive and just peace in the region, by reaching a just settlement of the Palestinian issue that takes into account the rights of the peoples of the region."

She stressed that "any vision for resolving the Palestinian issue should take into account avoiding jeopardizing the gains of peace in the region, in parallel with seeking to contain and deal with the causes and roots of the conflict by ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land."

She also stressed the need to "implement the two-state solution (one Palestinian state and one Israeli state) as the only way to achieve stability and coexistence among the peoples of the region."

US President Donald Trump reiterated his talk about displacing the residents of the Gaza Strip and transferring them to other countries, and his support for Israel's annexation of the West Bank, during his meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II earlier on Tuesday.

Trump said in a press conference that he expects to obtain a piece of land in Jordan and another in Egypt to settle the Palestinians there, and he renewed the threat of the consequences of not releasing the prisoners by noon next Saturday.

Jordan informs Trump of Egypt plan

During Trump's meeting at the White House, Jordanian King Abdullah II revealed the expected Egyptian plan for the first time, and later Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed that "the King assured Trump that Gaza can be reconstructed without displacing its people."

Al-Safadi said - in statements to Al Jazeera - that the King presented Jordan's vision during his talks with Trump, which stipulates that "the Gaza Strip can be reconstructed without displacing its people," a plan that he said "our brothers in Egypt are working on in coordination with Jordan and all Arab countries."

He pointed out that the basis of the Arab countries' plan is "the reconstruction of Gaza without displacing its people, and it will be presented to Trump when it is completed, and that Jordan's positions are "firm and unchanging," which are the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians to Jordan, Egypt, or to any Arab country, and the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

Safadi said that the US President explained to the King that he presented his plan regarding displacement based on humanitarian considerations, believing that reconstruction could not be done without the people of Gaza leaving it, "but the Jordanian King's proposal was that reconstruction could be done and the humanitarian aspect could be addressed while the people of Gaza remained there."

The Jordanian minister stressed that "Jordan's firm position, which does not and will not change, and which the King always emphasizes, is that the solution to the Palestinian issue is to establish a Palestinian state in a way that fulfills all the legitimate rights of the Palestinians."

He also stressed that Trump's statements came before the lengthy talks that the Jordanian monarch held with Trump after the latter spoke to the media. -According to Safadi- the king held "in-depth and extensive talks" with the US president on the two countries' bilateral relations, and on the situation in the region?

He explained that "the interests of Jordan and Jordanians lie in resolving the Palestinian issue on Palestinian soil and not displacing Palestinians to Jordan," and stressed that just peace will not be achieved unless the two-state solution is implemented, which guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people.

Regarding the announcement by the King of Jordan that his country will receive two thousand sick children in Gaza, Safadi explained that Jordan - since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza - has been working to provide humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip, and that it sent two field hospitals there, in addition to evacuating Palestinians who needed treatment that could not be provided in Gaza.

He denied that this step has anything to do with easing American pressure on Jordan regarding its acceptance of the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to its territory. -According to Safadi- Jordan will not alone receive the two thousand sick children, but they will be distributed to Arab countries after consulting with them.

Saudi Arabia rejects the displacement of Palestinians

For its part, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed on Tuesday its "categorical rejection of the extremist Israeli statements" regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land, and indicated that lasting peace will not be achieved except by accepting the principle of peaceful coexistence through the two-state solution.

This came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA). He expressed "categorical rejection of the extremist Israeli statements regarding the displacement of the brotherly Palestinian people from their land", and stressed "the centrality of the Palestinian cause to Saudi Arabia."

He stressed that "lasting peace will not be achieved except by accepting the principle of peaceful coexistence through the two-state solution."

On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "Saudi Arabia has vast areas and can establish a Palestinian state on them." This came in response to a question from the Israeli Channel 14 broadcaster regarding Riyadh's insistence on establishing a Palestinian state in order to normalize relations with Tel Aviv.

Saudi Arabia responded in two strongly worded statements from the Foreign Ministry rejecting the displacement. The first statement affirmed that “the Kingdom’s position on the establishment of a Palestinian state is a firm, unwavering position that is not subject to negotiation.” The second statement rejected Netanyahu’s statements and considered them “extremist and occupiers who do not understand what Palestinian land means to the Palestinian people.”

Since last January, Trump has been promoting his country's intention to seize Gaza after displacing the Palestinians from it to other countries, specifically Egypt and Jordan. In line with Trump's plan, the Israeli government has begun preparing a plan that it claims aims for the "voluntary departure" of the Palestinians from Gaza.

With American support, the Israeli occupation forces committed genocide in Gaza between October 7, 2023 and January 19, 2025, leaving about 160,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.
