The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, met with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, in Damascus yesterday, Sunday. They stressed the importance of strengthening strategic relations between the two countries and strengthening the next government. The two sides also called for lifting sanctions on Syria.

Al Jazeera sources said that Al-Sharaa met with a Saudi delegation that included an envoy from the Royal Court. He also received a Lebanese delegation headed by Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt.

The visit of these delegations comes in the context of regional and international diplomatic momentum towards Syria after the fall of the regime of ousted President Bashar al-Assad.

Meanwhile, the new Syrian administration is taking steps toward reshaping political and security institutions.
