Israel believes that 22 Israeli detainees remain alive in the Gaza Strip, and estimates that three or four additional prisoner exchanges are possible, with some suggesting that this could begin next Saturday, which would mean extending the ceasefire for at least another month.

Israeli estimates indicate that Hamas does not want to return to fighting, even if it is working to strengthen its forces and organize its ranks in the Gaza Strip. These estimates contradict what Katz said today, who claimed that Hamas is preparing to return to fighting, adding, "We received information that it is planning to attack soldiers and towns."

The occupying state also believes that the strategy of pressure and final warning will make Hamas agree to the extension, citing the movement’s agreement to hand over the bodies of the last batch without ceremony, as well as its agreement to transfer the four coffins before the release of all prisoners, as evidence that it is under pressure. In return, the occupation army is preparing for the possibility of returning to fighting, and continues to significantly reinforce its forces around Gaza.

Israel also assumes, according to Hebrew media, that there will be no second phase in the form that appeared in the deal proposal prepared by the administration of former US President Joe Biden. This means that Israel will continue its blackmail operations against Hamas, especially in light of the absence of a firm and clear Arab position in the face of the Israeli-American plans regarding Gaza.
