Hadramout: Yemen Youth Net - Special

Educator Bassam Bahshon, who has been hidden by the Transitional Council forces in Hadhramaut since December 2024
The forces of the UAE-backed Transitional Council in the city of Mukalla in Hadhramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen, refuse to reveal the place of detention of the educator Bassam Bahashwan, who was kidnapped early last December 2024.
The kidnapped man's family told "Yemeni Youth Net" that they had knocked on all doors, demanding to reveal the fate of Bahashwan, who was kidnapped by the so-called Security Support Forces (affiliated with the Transitional Council) early last December.
She added, "These forces still refuse to reveal his place of detention or allow them to communicate with him, despite the directive of the head of the Hadhramaut Appeal Prosecution to the commander of the Second Military Region and the Security Department to quickly present the detainee to the West Mukalla Prosecution."
The family confirmed that their demands did not find any response from the concerned authorities, who justified it by saying that the security support forces do not follow them and that they follow the coalition forces in the coast led by the UAE.
She pointed out that after this period of concealment, the Education Office stopped his salary, as a result of his absence from teaching, demanding his immediate and unconditional release.
Units of the so-called Security Support Forces, in the Barashid Brigade of the Transitional Council, which is stationed west of Mukalla, had kidnapped Bahashwan on December 3, after storming his house in the Al-Salam neighborhood in the city of Mukalla, and took him to an unknown location.
Bassam Bahashwan, an English language teacher and father of three daughters, has been missing for nearly three months, with no information about his whereabouts or the charges against him.
