Security forces in Hadhramaut Governorate released journalist Imad Mahdi Al-Dini, editor-in-chief of Akhbar Hadhramaut newspaper, on Sunday, days after his arrest.
Local sources said that the security forces in Mukalla released the religious journalist, three days after his arrest after raiding his home and assaulting him in front of his family in the city of Mukalla.
His release came based on the request of the Public Funds Prosecution Office in the governorate to the Director of Security of Mukalla District to release him after obtaining the necessary guarantee for his attendance upon request.
Last Thursday morning, security forces stormed the home of the religious journalist in the Khalaf area of Mukalla and assaulted him in front of his family before taking him to prison.
It is noteworthy that the religious journalist was active in Facebook posts criticizing the leadership of the local authority and linking it to corruption cases, including the primitive oil refinery that was recently announced to have been discovered in Hawsh Al-Rayyan.
