The forces of the UAE-backed Transitional Council released an activist in the revolutionary movement, after about six months of his kidnapping in the interim capital, Aden, in southern Yemen.
Local sources said that the Security Belt Forces released activist Sami Omar Bawazir yesterday, Thursday, four days after the competent criminal prosecution ordered his release.
Last Monday, the Specialized Criminal Prosecution issued an order to the commander of the Security Belt Forces, demanding the immediate release of Bawazir, unless he is wanted in connection with other cases.
Bawazir was kidnapped by the Security Belt Forces, affiliated with the Transitional Council led by Jalal al-Rubaie, on August 22, 2024, from the Caltex roundabout in Mansoura District, and was taken to one of its prisons.
It is noteworthy that Bawazir's kidnapping came against the backdrop of verbal altercations that took place in WhatsApp groups, in which the sons of Yafa' were accused of "climbing on the issue of the sons of Al-Jaadna", which sparked tensions that ended with his kidnapping and charges of disturbing the peace.
