Watch.. A well-planned ambush by the Qassam Brigades against an Israeli infantry company and vehicles west of Jabalia

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast footage documenting the moment its fighters attacked a truck carrying a number of occupation soldiers west of Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip on the ninth of this month.

The Qassam Brigades said in a video clip that it targeted trucks and military vehicles loaded with Israeli soldiers near the communications junction west of Jabalia camp.

The Israeli occupation army had previously announced the killing of an officer and two soldiers in the Qassam ambush in Jabalia.

The footage, obtained by Al Jazeera, shows Qassam fighters taking control of an Israeli military bulldozer before burning it and withdrawing from the area.

The video clip reads, "On Monday morning, 12/9/2024, thanks to God and His guidance, and after 67 days of siege and destruction in northern Gaza, Qassam fighters carried out a complex operation, setting up a tight ambush against an infantry company and enemy vehicles near the communications junction west of Jabalia camp."

A group of Qassam fighters appeared in the scenes planning and preparing for the complex ambush. One of the fighters said that they would carry out a tight ambush against the occupation forces, indicating that according to the information they obtained through reconnaissance and field monitoring, the enemy is stationed in a company from the Givati Brigade west of Jabalia, supported by other forces.

The Qassam scenes also showed Israeli occupation soldiers from the infantry, then a truck loaded with soldiers, then the truck being targeted by Qassam fighters, where a fire broke out inside it.

Intelligence failure

According to military and strategic expert Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, the Israeli intelligence failure is evident in the inability of the occupation forces present in the Jabalia area to protect the soldiers targeted by the Qassam Brigades fighters.

The Qassam fighters succeeded, Colonel Al-Falahi added, in the infiltration operation and reaching the area where the Israeli soldiers were located, then executing the ambush in several stages. He described the operation as qualitative, and in which many qualitative weapons were used.

Commenting on the Qassam ambush in Jabalia camp, the military and strategic expert explained that there are several observations that can be drawn from it, including filming the occupation soldiers as they move, and tracking these soldiers to precise and sensitive areas, which means collecting precise intelligence information that helps them in developing an ambush plan.

Noting that one of the fighters said in the scenes broadcast by the Qassam Brigades that they had spotted a unit from the Givati Brigade stationed in the targeted area, in addition to two armored and engineering platoons.

Colonel Al-Falahi reiterated what he had said in previous analyses, that the capabilities and capacities possessed by the resistance factions in guerrilla warfare make them different from regular armies in terms of movement, infiltration, and reaching the target, in addition to monitoring and surveillance.

The Israeli occupation army has great capabilities, including drones that roam the sky, and ground observatories that can carry out surveillance operations from distant areas. In addition, the forces present in the region include complete divisions and 3 brigades: the Givati Brigade, the 401 Brigade, and the Kfir Brigade.

As Colonel Al-Falahi points out, what confirms the failure of the Israeli occupation army in terms of intelligence is its inability to reach the Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip.

In light of the imbalance of power and what is happening on the ground, the Israeli forces have become a fixed target for the fighters of the Palestinian resistance factions, as the military and strategic expert says in his analysis of the scene in the Gaza Strip.

Jabalia camp was heavily targeted by the Israeli occupation forces, which imposed a tight siege on it and starved the residents by preventing them from receiving basic supplies, in addition to the continuous raids and shelling of the area.

It is noteworthy that the Al-Qassam Brigades in the Gaza Strip have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and their vehicles on various combat fronts since the start of the Israeli ground operation on October 27, 2023, and many details about the operations carried out against the occupation forces appeared in the video clips.

It also set up successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of military vehicles.
