A soldier was injured in an armed attack targeting a Transitional Forces site east of Abyan

A soldier was injured on Monday in an armed attack targeting a site of the Transitional Council forces in Mudiyah District, east of Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.

A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that a soldier from the Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade was shot by gunmen believed to belong to Al-Qaeda in Wadi Omran, Mudiyah District.

The source added that the sniper operation coincided with an armed attack on one of the sites located within the scope of operations of the Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade in the Al-Baghira area in Wadi Omran.

The source indicated that the injured soldier was transferred to receive treatment, while the site personnel exchanged fire with the attacking elements, who withdrew shortly after the attack.
