Closing of exchange companies in the liberated governorates
The Public Prosecution, in cooperation with the Central Bank branch and the security services in Al Mahrah Governorate, launched today an intensive campaign to close unlicensed exchange companies that violate regulations.
The campaign included the closure of 11 violating exchange companies, including 5 companies in Al Ghaydah Directorate, 5 companies in Shahn Directorate, and one exchange company in Hawf. The campaign will continue through field visits to other directorates to control violations and close unlicensed companies in accordance with the laws regulating the financial sector in the country.
According to Saba News Agency, the campaign was launched after a joint meeting that included the Public Prosecution Chief Judge Hani Balhaf, the Director General of the Central Bank Branch Jumaan Awad, the Director of Security and Police Brigadier General Mufti Samouda, and the Director of Supervision at the Bank Tariq Balhaf, in the presence of the Public Prosecutors Judge Fikri Salem and Judge Abdullah Saidan.
This comes within the framework of the measures taken by the security services and local authorities to limit the collapse of the currency, in light of the failure of the measures taken to address this horrific deterioration and its repercussions on the lives of citizens in various fields.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister had directed yesterday to intensify the campaign to close down violating exchange companies in all liberated governorates.
The security services implemented similar measures in a number of liberated governorates, including Aden and Hadhramaut, in implementation of government directives.
