The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that this visit comes within the framework of the recommendations issued by the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which stressed the Council countries’ adherence to the basic principles that guarantee Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and that it is also “a message of support for the will of the brotherly Syrian people.”
This is the second official delegation to arrive in Damascus today. A Ukrainian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Andriy Sypiga arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, after the regime of ousted President Bashar al-Assad announced a rift with Kiev two years ago.
In the same context, Al-Shaibani announced today that he had accepted an official invitation from his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, to visit the Kingdom.
Al-Shaibani added, according to a post on his official account on the X platform, “I accept this invitation with all love and pleasure, and I am honored to represent my country on my first official visit, and we look forward to building strategic relations with our brothers in the Kingdom in all fields.”
