Hazem Batash
Informed sources said that a young man in his thirties killed his wife in a horrific manner this Saturday afternoon in a town in the southern province of Al-Dhale.
The sources explained to "Yemeni Youth Net" that the young man, named "Hazem Batash", 30 years old, killed his wife "Shaima Al-Fatahi", 20 years old, with a sharp instrument, and cut off her head from her body, in his hometown in the village of "Al-Wateef", in the Qurain Al-Fahd area, in the Qataba Directorate.
The sources indicated that the perpetrator summoned his wife at 4 pm from among the village women to his room, closed the door, and slaughtered her with a knife in front of his two daughters, indicating that he separated her head from her body.
The sources reported that after committing the crime, the young man went to chew qat with his friends, before the competent authorities arrested him and put him in prison.
According to the sources, there had been no previous disputes between the couple, as the victim was in her husband's house. The sources attributed the reasons for the crime to the perpetrator's use of narcotic pills, adding: "He says he has a psychological condition and is taking pills."
This comes in light of the noticeable increase in domestic crimes in various Yemeni governorates, amid the spread of the phenomenon of carrying weapons and taking narcotic pills among young people.
