The gas company in Taiz Governorate (southwest of Yemen) has stopped supplying two commercial gas stations in the city due to monopoly, hiding large quantities of gas and selling them at high prices.

The company said in a memo addressed to SASCO, a company that supplies major consumers, that the Al-Wafa and Al-Jabal gas stations in Taiz monopolized and hid large quantities that were stored in order to create a crisis and sell at a high price to restaurants.

The circular ordered the suspension of supplying the two stations with their share due to these violations.

The city of Taiz is witnessing a stifling domestic gas crisis at a time when the residents of the besieged city are preparing to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, amidst further living and food crises.
