Hadhramaut Valley Electricity announced today, Saturday, the arrival of a number of transformers to the Aideed substation in Tarim, to enhance the voltage and increase its transformer capacity, in order to cover the deficit facing the governorate in terms of electricity.
According to the institution’s media, the fifth transformer arrived yesterday, Friday, with a capacity of 20-25 megavolt amperes to enhance the voltage and increase its conversion capacity, after the arrival of four transformers earlier.
She pointed out that this comes within the rehabilitation projects that aim to raise the capacities of the Hadhramaut Valley Electricity Transformer Stations targeted during the current year 2024 AD with the support of the leadership of the local authority in the governorate, the valley and the desert.
She confirmed that the installation process of the transformer will continue in the coming days to operate it and feed the lines (Al-Souq - Dar Al-Mustafa - Al-Rahba - Moulay Aidid).
It was mentioned that the transformer of the Nahima transformer station in Shibam, with a capacity of 20-25 mega volt amperes, was operated after the completion of the connection operations and the installation of the new breakers in the station.
Hadramout Governorate has witnessed continuous power outages in recent weeks, resulting in night demonstrations, road closures, and escalation by citizens in response to the deterioration of electricity service in the governorate.
