Hadramout Specialized Criminal Court sentences 11 drug traffickers to death and imprisons others

The Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance in Hadhramaut (eastern Yemen) issued the death sentence for 11 people accused of drug trafficking and the imprisonment of 2 others.
This came in a public session held by the court on Monday, headed by the court president, Judge Fahd Mohammed Al-Yazidi, and attended by the member of the prosecution, Judge Ghanem Awad Al-Bahsani, and the secretary, Majed Al-Alwani, according to the Public Prosecution’s media.
The first court ruling ruled to execute the accused (Hakim Dada Barandush, Osama Khair Mahmoud, Radwan Abdul Sattar Barandush, Faiz Muhammad Nohani, and Latif Nohani Wali Muhammad) as a punishment and to confiscate the seized items and destroy the drugs, after they were convicted of the charges attributed to them of bringing and possessing drugs in the indictment decision in Criminal Case No. (1) JJ for the year 2021 AD.
The court also issued its verdict to execute the accused (Youssef Musa Doshal, Dar Muhammad Taj Khudabakhsh, Habib Murad Jan Rahim, Musa Aladar Al Balushi, Marouf Murad Jan Rahim, and Amir Bakhsh Faz Muhammad) as a punishment and to confiscate the seized items and destroy the drugs, after they were convicted of the charges attributed to them of bringing and possessing drugs in the indictment decision in Case No. (127) J J for the year 2022 AD.
Another ruling was issued to imprison the accused (Saleh Ahmed Saleh Baqasem) for a period of 25 years starting from the date of his arrest, confiscate the seized items and destroy the drug, after he was convicted of what was attributed to him in the indictment decision in Case No. (121) C J for the year 2023 AD. The court also ruled to imprison the accused (Yeslam Salem Hassan Al-Gharabi) for a period of 5 years starting from the date of his arrest, destroy the drug and return the rest of the seized items, after he was convicted of what was attributed to him in the indictment decision in Case No. (122) C J for the year 2023 AD.
In recent years, the same court has issued a number of death sentences and prison sentences against drug dealers, with the increase in smuggling and trafficking crimes in the governorate and other governorates throughout the country, which has been witnessing a war that has been ongoing for ten years.
