Ibb.. Houthi gunmen disrupt the opening of the September 26 Educational Complex in Al Majmaah area

On Wednesday, the director of the region’s department, accompanied by armed men, took down the signboard of the September 26 Educational Complex and threw it to the ground, disrupting the official opening of the complex in the Al Majma’ah area in the Habish district of Ibb Governorate, central Yemen.

Activists on social media circulated photos and video clips of the Houthi gunman and his companions storming the opening ceremony and preventing the broadcast of patriotic songs by the artist Ayoub Taresh over the loudspeaker.

The incident, which took place in the presence of educational figures and residents of the area, angered those present, who considered these actions unjustified and offensive to the event, the aim of which was to celebrate a new educational achievement for the area.

While no official clarifications have been issued by the Houthi de facto authority regarding the causes of the incident so far, the residents are demanding an explanation for what happened and holding accountable those responsible for disrupting the party atmosphere.
