Three people killed and injured by gunman in Ibb

An elderly citizen was killed, and a young man and a woman were injured by gunmen in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), amid security chaos in the governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi militia.

Local sources said that a citizen named "Mohammed Naaman Iskandar Al-Bukhaiti" was killed and his son and a woman were injured, on Sunday, by the bullets of a gunman named "Abdul Hafeez Al-Julhi", in an ambush he set up on one of the roads in the "Al-Qabreen" area in the Al-Thawabi district in the Jablah district, southwest of Ibb.

The sources added that Al-Bukhaiti was driving his car to transport passengers towards the city of Al-Qaeda, south of Ibb, before he was subjected to an armed ambush that claimed his life and injured his son and a woman who was in the car.

The sources suggested that the incident was the result of previous disputes between the perpetrator and the victim over a plot of land that were pending before the court and had not been decided.

The incident comes amidst the widespread security chaos witnessed in Ibb Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, where at least 12 people have been killed and injured since the beginning of January in separate incidents witnessed by several districts of the governorate.
