Traffic accidents in the liberated areas during the past month of September resulted in the death and injury of more than 300 people, according to recent security statistics.
The security media of the Ministry of Interior in the Yemeni government said that the roads and streets of the liberated areas witnessed 323 traffic accidents during the past month of September, which resulted in the death of 58 people and the injury of 258 others, including 144 people who were seriously injured.
He added that the traffic accidents, which caused financial losses of 280 million riyals, were distributed among 216 vehicle collision accidents, 71 pedestrian run-over accidents, 29 vehicle rollover accidents, 6 vehicle fall accidents, and 2 vehicle fire accidents.
The statistics attributed these accidents to violations of traffic rules and regulations, pedestrian negligence, and lack of concern for the safety and repair of vehicles.
