The Houthi militia forced the tribes of Ibb Governorate, who were demanding the arrest of the killers of Sheikh "Sadiq Bashar", to lift their sit-in in Dar Salam in Sana'a after besieging it with dozens of vehicles and threatening to disperse it by force, hours after their sit-in in Al-Sab'een Square was dispersed by force.

Informed sources said that late yesterday evening, the Houthi militia surrounded the sit-in of the Ibb tribes demanding the arrest of the killers of Sheikh Sadiq Bashar in the Dar Salam area south of the capital Sana'a with a large number of vehicles and threatened to storm it by force and kidnap the participants.

The sources added that the militia sent a committee from the Ministry of Interior in the unrecognized authorities to meet with representatives of the sit-in after it was surrounded from all directions by military crews.

The sources explained that the militia committee demanded that the protesters end the sit-in immediately or storm it by force, which the protesters refused, before negotiations took place between the two sides to end the sit-in voluntarily in exchange for the militia’s commitment to hand over the killers and involve representatives of the Ibb tribes in the investigations that are expected to begin today according to the agreement.

Earlier on Friday, Houthi militia forces forcibly removed tents of protesting Ibb tribes in Al-Sab’een Square, prompting the protesters to move their sit-in to the Dar Salam area.

Last Monday, Houthi elements led by the so-called "Alawi Saleh Qaid Al-Amir", who was appointed by the Houthi militia as director of the Alaya Police Department in the Shamila area, ambushed the tribal sheikh "Sadiq Bashar" in the Dar Salam roundabout south of Sana'a, and shot him dead.

Following this, the next day, tribesmen from Ibb governorate set up tents in Al-Sab’een Square and launched an open sit-in to demand the arrest and punishment of the perpetrators, amid accusations that the militia was complicit with the killers and trying to dilute the case, which had become a public opinion issue.
