Young Fahd Al-Muntaser died by drowning in Ain Hit in Riyadh

A Yemeni expatriate died by drowning in an underground lake in the Riyadh region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Sources close to the expatriate (Fahd Ali Ahmed Al-Muntaser) reported that he died by drowning inside an underground lake in the “Ain Hit” cave near Al-Kharj Governorate, southeast of Riyadh.

The sources explained that Al-Muntaser went out for a walk to the dangerous cave on Tuesday evening and was lost inside the cave.

The sources indicated that civil defense teams searched for him since they received the report, until he was found dead inside an underground lake in the cave, Thursday morning.

Al-Muntasir comes from the isolated population of the Ibb countryside (east of the governorate center), which bears the same name (central Yemen).

Ain Hit Cave, recently included among the tourist attractions in the Riyadh region, contains a water well approximately 15 meters deep, made of limestone and anhydrite rocks. It has an entrance that is approximately 74 meters wide and approximately 180 to 200 meters deep, on a slope. It widens downhill, with large rockslides and slides, making descents dangerous.
