Clashes resumed on Thursday between tribal gunmen in the Asilan district of Shabwa Governorate, southeast of Yemen, three days after they broke out, in the complete absence of the role of the security services.

Tribal sources told the "Yemeni Youth Net" website that clashes broke out again between the "Balharith" and "Al-Boutahif" tribes in the Al-Farsha area in the Asilan Directorate, following previous disputes between the two parties.

The sources explained that the militants used various types of weapons during the confrontations, including drones used by the Balharith tribe, without any information available about human casualties.

The clashes had started three days ago between the two tribes, without any intervention from the security services or military formations in the governorate, according to the same sources.

The sources indicated that the roots of the conflict go back to a dispute over border lands located between the districts of Bayhan and Harib, where the "Al-Boutahif" tribe belongs to Marib, while the "Balharith" tribe belongs to Shabwa.
