Former Minister of Education Abdullah Lamlas called on Sunday to open the way for political and partisan pluralism in the southern arena.

In a post on his Facebook page, Lamlas, one of the southern leaders, warned against returning to totalitarianism, which led to what he described as a “catastrophe.”

In this regard, he called for "benefiting from the experiences and mistakes of the past," and said: "After independence, the slogan 'All the people are a nation' was raised, and after the founding of the (Socialist) Party, the slogan 'No voice is louder than the voice of the party' was raised."

He considered the current consecration of the Transitional Council project as one of the most prominent mistakes in the southern political arena, and said: “Today there are those who want us to raise the slogan ‘All the people are Transitional’,” according to his description.

The southern leader, Lamlas, asked: "Will we benefit, or will we fall again into the mistakes of the past?"

This comes in light of the Transitional Council's control over many southern governorates, including the interim capital, Aden, where it is working to criminalize political life and present itself as the sole representative of the people of the south who are demanding secession.
