The death toll from the massacre committed by the terrorist Houthi militias in the Maqbanah district, west of Taiz governorate, has risen to 14 martyrs and wounded, while the local authority in the district demanded an urgent international investigation and holding those responsible for this crime accountable.

Earlier today, local sources reported that the terrorist Houthi militia targeted a popular market in the Al-Bumiyah area, Al-Barashah district, Maqbanah district, west of Taiz, southwest of Yemen, with a drone.

The sources reported this evening that the attack, which targeted citizens gathered to buy their daily needs from the market, by Iranian drones, led to the martyrdom of 6 and the injury of 8 others.

In turn, the local authority in Maqbanah District condemned in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by the terrorist Houthi militias, which consisted of bombing civilians using drones in the village of Bumiyah, Barashah District, during shopping time at noon.

The local authority said in a statement that this crime resulted in the martyrdom of 6 innocent people and the serious injury of 8 others, including children, stressing that this brutal attack does not only target innocent people, but rather represents a flagrant violation of humanitarian values and international laws that prohibit targeting civilians and protect their rights.

The statement called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to play their role in confronting these heinous crimes committed by the Houthi militias against the Yemeni people.

He also called for an urgent international investigation and holding accountable those responsible for this crime and other crimes that threaten the lives of innocent civilians in various regions.

The statement concluded by stressing that protecting civilians and ensuring their safety is a humanitarian and moral duty that cannot be ignored, and that the continuation of these crimes poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
