For two days, Al-Jawf Governorate (northeast of Yemen) has been witnessing tension that threatens armed confrontations between the Houthi militia and the Bani Nawf tribes east of the governorate center.

Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the Houthi militia deployed additional points and sent military reinforcements to areas adjacent to the Bani Nouf tribes' areas east of Al-Hazm.

She added that the militia demands the handover of the killers of one of its supervisors, called "Abu Kamal Al-Jabali", who was killed by tribesmen two days ago in revenge for the killing of their son "Mabrouk Hazam Al-Hilali", who was killed by the same Houthi supervisor on March 30.

The sources indicated that the tribes reject the militia's demands and consider what happened as their natural right to avenge the killing of their son, which makes it likely that the situation will explode and confrontations will break out between the two sides.

These developments come more than a week after clashes broke out between the two sides at a checkpoint near the Labnat camp east of Al-Hazm, after militia elements at the checkpoint liquidated a young man from the tribe named "Jaber Hamad Al-Nufi."

For years, there have been intermittent clashes between the Bani Nawf tribe and the Houthi militia, following the violations committed by the militia against the tribe’s members.

It is noteworthy that the Houthi militia has been liquidating citizens from tribes hostile to it for years at checkpoints, as part of the widespread violations committed by the militia against the people of the governorate in the areas under its control.
