Traffic was completely disrupted on the Hodeidah-Hajjah line in the Ma'bour area this morning, after a truck loaded with wood overturned.
According to local sources, the accident occurred due to the difficulty of the road and the narrowness of the lanes in the area, which led to the suspension of transportation for long hours after the truck overturned.
The sources reported that the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to receive treatment, while the truck and the wood loaded on it suffered significant losses.
Citizens and truck drivers called for opening the Manakha line as a strategic alternative to relieve pressure on the Hodeidah-Hajjah line.
Citizens stressed the importance of allocating separate lanes for ascending and descending roads to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce the occurrence of recurring accidents.
It is noteworthy that the Hodeidah-Hajjah line is one of the main arteries for transporting goods between the governorates, and suffers from heavy traffic due to the deterioration of the infrastructure and the absence of periodic maintenance.
Truck drivers confirmed that truck overturns are common on this road, which increases the suffering of drivers and citizens alike.
