Lawyer Abdul Majeed Sabra, who resides in the capital Sana’a, revealed that he was subjected to a systematic incitement campaign by Houthi figures led by Abdul Wahab Al-Khail, an advisor to the Ministry of Interior in the militia authorities (which are not recognized).
Sabra pointed out that the campaign, which is taking place on social media, came after he announced his readiness to defend his fellow lawyers, journalists and civilians who were kidnapped in connection with the celebration of the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.
Sabra stated that Al-Khail reported him and incited against him by publishing a series of posts on the “X” platform accusing him of standing with what he described as “traitors.”
He added, "We have come to live in a very dangerous environment. The profession of defending detainees has become a crime."
Sabra called on the Bar Association to urgently intervene to stop the incitement campaigns led by Al-Khayl, as he is a member of the association, considering the appeal he launched on his page as an official report to the Public Prosecution Office under the control of the Houthis, and to all concerned.
The terrorist Houthi militia had launched, during the past few days, extensive kidnapping campaigns that targeted hundreds of people celebrating the glorious September 26 Revolution in the capital, Sana'a, and the rest of the governorates under its control.
Over the past years, lawyer Abdul Majeed Sabra has been at the forefront of defending the rights of abductees in Sana’a before the Houthi courts, which the Houthi militia has used as a tool to settle scores with its political opponents.
