The Yemeni Gas Company announced on Saturday that it had not granted a license to the random gas station that exploded on Friday evening in the Mansoura district of the interim capital, Aden, in southern Yemen.
The company explained - in a statement published by the Yemeni News Agency "Saba" - that it addressed the local authorities in the liberated governorates and the interim capital Aden, urging them to remove the random gas stations in residential areas, neighborhoods, and districts that do not meet the security and safety requirements, and do not hold any licenses to practice their activity from the company.
The company called on the relevant authorities to cooperate in removing all illegal gas stations for the public and private interest, expressing its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the random gas station explosion in Mansoura District.

The death toll in the Aden gas station explosion as of the time of writing this post, remains unchanged, three charred bodies have been pulled from the rubble.
The number of injured is 18, 11 of whom left the hospital because their injuries were minor, and seven injured remain, four of whom are in the hospital...
Earlier today, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak issued a decision to form a committee to investigate the gas station explosion in Mansoura District in the interim capital Aden, which resulted in a number of deaths, injuries and material damage.
According to the Yemeni News Agency "Saba", Prime Minister's Decision No. 36 of 2024 stipulated the formation of an investigation committee headed by the Director General of the Yemeni Oil and Gas Corporation, and the membership of representatives from the Ministries of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Justice, Interior (Civil Defense Authority) and (General Administration of Criminal Evidence), and the local authority in Aden Governorate.
It also stipulated that the committee shall undertake the task of investigating and determining the circumstances of the gas filling station explosion in Mansoura District, Aden Governorate, and submit a report on the results of its work and recommendations to the Prime Minister, within a period not exceeding five days from its date.
In this context, the Prime Minister directed the head of the Central Organization for Control and Accounting to assign a team of specialists from the organization to visit the Yemen Gas Company to review all licenses issued for the establishment of gas stations, from 2016 to date.
